Winter clothing in the realm of fashion

The next time you unlock the old luggage of yours to throw out the winter clothing which you ‘assume’ is out of fashion, then think again. Fashion in simple definition is ‘living up-to the place’ of current clothing, hairstyle, makeup etc. People are sometimes too focused on going with the tide of the enduring people that sometimes they forget being different is what makes one stand out from amongst the crowd. Looking at fashion icons of our generation, one thing is prominent with figures such as Jackie Kennedy, Marilyn Monroe, Princess Diana to name a few, they have their own signature look, that is originality. Marilyn Monroe, in her illustrious quote said’ I don’t do fashion, Iam fashion.’ Coming back to the much awaited season of all time Winter and the winter clothing that comes along with it, a time for those long awaited durable, warm woollen or fur coats, the chic jackets and the gloves, mittens and hats that we love to boast-off of. Sadly, the winter clothing is also the indication of the dark side of fashion where in the name of comfort animals will be harmed or slaughtered for their feathers, fur, wool etc. The voice of animals such as the PETA has been trying to raise serious concerns in this regard by advocating high-tech vegan materials better for both animals and the environment and to capitulate the trending winter clothing such as the Canadian goose feathers for winter jackets. Fashion as a term is highly androgynous; the business suits then worn by men have now been worn by women with their merger in the professional work force with clothing such as straight conservative skirts and broad shouldered boxy blazers that tops the look. What is not discriminatory about fashion and its winter clothing is that it can stand the test of time and hardly ever go out of style. The one thing that will keep coming back is people’s taste of repetitive fashion. Coming back to the arriving winter season and the winter clothing that we love to term as chic and elegant also has its own share of their history. Example, the trench coat which lives for winter has a story of its own, originally worn by the British and the French soldiers in the trenches during the 1st world war, hence the term trench-coat is now worn not only for the trenches but as every winter clothing. In-fact, a lot of our winter clothing has its source in the military although two British luxury clothing manufacturers like Burberry and Aquascutum has claimed to have been the first one to use it in the fashion sense. Of late the winter clothing such as the military boots formerly thought to be a brawny, heavy yet a necessary piece of clodhopper is worn in caricatures by all sexes in a very hobo, slipshod fashion sense. Also the bomber jacket, here, talking only of the sporadic winter clothing to name a few, was originally known as the flight jacket in materials of all time such as tan, khaki or beige fabric, is a short sturdy jacket traditionally make of leather to be worn by men which now however has been worn by all. It has a fitted or elastic waist and a zippered front often a fleece or pile collar. Reminiscing of the growing-up days in regards to winter clothing where we see our fathers wearing those loose cardigans or the knitted pullovers for colder days and a trench coat or blazers with an outer muffler that absolutely serves no purpose which is the case for the more stylish daddies. Back then, we had absolutely no inkling that our father’s winter clothing will be worn in current days by now what we term fashionistas. Fashion indeed runs in circle, nothing is out of place in the world of fashion. It is a platform where we get to experiment with every piece of clothing and still create a mentation to be followed. It just takes someone bold and daring to step out of the box to create a clothing of his\her own.
